DescriptionThe main feature that attracts amateurs to image this galaxy is the faint ring that surrounds it. This is known as a "barred" galaxy, due to the bright line through the core and to the edge of the central disk. There's then a dark gap, then a complete ring of faint nebulosity beyond.
