| Description | This is considered a lenticular galaxy, exhibiting a separate nucleus and disk, but no structure within the disk. It's another William Herschel discovery from March 14, 1784. It is also the only galaxy I know with TWO NGC numbers. These are assigned based on an object's right ascension. This was originally miscalculated as 3632, later corrected. But both numbers today refer to this galaxy. |
