EAA for Star Parties
With few exceptions, I use EAA techniques for all of my imaging. Conventional astrophotographers prefer a more intensive technique with hours of data capture, and hours of after-the-fact processing. But I love EAA’s real-time imaging, and the relatively simple processing it enables. But everyone agrees, EAA is a superb technology for exhibiting at star parties.
Below are some images I’ve captured at star parties…. Most are captured in less than 6 minutes, displayed in real time and enhanced every 20-30 seconds. Generally you can see some intriguing information from the first exposure, with satisfying detail added with every incremental exposure. Usually, there’s a good dialog about the object as the image improves, so time passes quickly.
