Six Binocular Targets (not craters or rays)
Six medium-sized targets visible using binoculars, and clearly visible in my full moon image.
Observer Comments
Target Description | Here are marked six additional objects which can be viewed using binoculars. They include: Mare Vaporum (which makes up the eye socket for the "Woman in the Moon"; Sinus Iridium (Bay of Rainbow) which is shaped like a Rainbow; and Palus Somni (Marsh of Sleep) that seems about as fanciful as any lunar name can be. All are readily seen in the Seestar image. You may want to enlarge the image on your screen to see them clearly. |
Image Capture Description | This full moon image was an opportunistic capture with my Seestar on a clear night with good visibility, just because. At the time I was not contemplating the AL Lunar Program. |
