Observations>Binocular Objects>Craters ~7 Days OldNine Binocular Craters (of 14) around 7 Days
Nine medium-sized craters visible using binoculars, and clearly visible in my 6.8 day quarter moon (closeups of 3 & 6 craters)
Observer Comments
| Target Description | The 6.8 day First Quarter capture was ideal to show 9 of the 14 "around 7 day" captures. The others were further west and still in darkness, which I will show from another image later in a lunar phase. |
| Image Capture Description | This was an unexpected break... the weather forecast was for clouds, and earlier in the evening it had been completely clouded over. But as I was turning off the lights to go to bed, I discovered it was clear. So, out came the Seestar, and I was able to capture a nearly precise Quarter Moon. We've been in a terrible, cloudy pattern this spring, making this one of only two new images I've captured since making the decision to pursue the Lunar Program. |
