| Description | Apparently Arp discovered this galaxy in 1965. His remarks are pretty expansive (for him): "Low surface brightness dwarf. Large bright knot in arm appears almost stellar." What's fun for me about this target is that my little 8" EdgeHD with a mono sensor is able to go deeper than the best telescope in the world in 1966, even on a mediocre night with smoke haze and a crescent moon. To be sure the Hale Telescope is way better than mine, but I have the advantage of a CMOS camera and digital enhancements. |
