| Description | Arp's "Wind Effects" category is one of the most fun. This is so tiny it's a little hard to see. As he notes in his remarks, the reason for this classification is: "Slanted parallel streamers off each edge of main galaxy. " It seems a bit of a stretch as the bottom "streamer" looks more like a smallish barred spiral in its own right, and the upper streamer could be an edge on view of a reasonably large galaxy. Still, what accounts for the parallelism? I cheated to sneak this observation in before a nearly full moon rose. I succeeded in that goal, but the sky was still partly cloudy and I strubbled to gain integration time, with about half the lights filtered by Sharpcap's brightness filter. |
