Description | Final observation of a very successful evening, completed around 1 AM. As expected for a Messier object, it is very bright. SharpCap had difficulty plate-solving, giving a "too few stars error"... so I upped the gain to 375. Given the surface brightness, and dithering every two 30-second frames, noise stayed reasonbly under control, and I was pleased to see the structure become evident after only half an hour. |
