| Description | A few days earlier, my wife and I had been visiting friends in the Colorado Rockies, and were treated to a fabulously dark and clear night, where the dark nebulae smeared across the Milky Way were spectacularly evident to the naked eye. This is one of the most spectacular of these dark nebulae.. this image captures the center of it, and coves an area about 6 times the area of the full moon. Located towards the southern horizon. a little above the Small Sagittarius Star Cloud and next to the Eagle Nebula. Included in the August CN EAA challenge. |
