| Description | The comet is obvious, the reddish ball is the 3rd magnitude star Tania Australis (μ UMa 34 UMa), which means it's visible to the naked eye in my arrea. Just before shutting down at 5:30 AM, I checked out the "Comet" section in the Seestar App and found this listing in a readily accessible part of the sky, and allowing me to point directly AWAY from a full moon. This is part of Ursa Major (the big bear, which includes the Big Dipper) which is a "claw" paired with a bright blue star. |
