Image DetailsUp is 270.9 degrees E of N. Total integration time was 10m 15s. Exposures 15s@305g, UV/IR Cut Filter. Darks subtracted, no flats. Dithered and recentered in SharpCap. No guiding.
DescriptionI enjoy a good globular cluster. There are a bunch in the Messier catalog because they do look a fair amount like a comet. Some are better than others, and I judge this one to be better than the median. Messier himself found this in 1764, but it wasn't until 20 years later that William Herschel had a good enough telescope to resolve any of the individual stars.
