DescriptionAt only 1.4x1 arc-minute, I was puzzled how this was an acceptable "Vera Rubin" galaxy. It is relatively bright and regular, and nearly face-on, which I thought might have made it an acceptable target for Rubin's measurements, though I was dubious. Structurally, at least at the resolution I can perceive through my telescope, it's not terribly inspiring, so I judged 30m of integration enough and moved on to the next target on my list.

I should have double checked. The Rubin catalog is UGC 3691, not NGC! That's a little surprising, as the UGC is a 1973 catalog of nearly 13,000 galaxies cataloging all of the galaxies larger than 1 arcminute from the 1958 POSS survey. Most are small and faint. Anyway, this is not the galaxy.
