This site implements a database of my personal EAA observations. All images were captured by the webmaster. If you’re visiting: “Favorites” gives you a filterable list of my favorite objects. “Lists” provides links to all observations: “All (Chron)” in date order, starting with the earliest; others filter astronomical catalog listings (note: most objects appear in two or more lists).
My four most recent observations follow; use controls below to see earlier observations or select “Recents” to view 12 per page.
Arp 276 / NGC 935 and IC 1801
Two “interacting” galaxies, according to Arp. Note he hates saying “merging”.
Arp 92 / NGC 7603
A cornerstone of Arp’s “Intrinsic Redshift” debate. The companion galaxy has a very different redshift, and in 2001 two Spanish astronomers discovered 2 quasars perfectly aligned in the filament (not visible in my or Arp’s original capture)
NGC 2715: a Vera Rubin Galaxy
Sixth captured of 21 galaxies in Vera Rubin’s famous research paper from 1980 analyzing galaxy rotation postulating Dark Matter
NGC 1035: a Vera Rubin Galaxy
Fifth captured of 21 galaxies in Vera Rubin’s famous research paper from 1980 analyzing galaxy rotation postulating Dark Matter
