Description | This is an obscure target that's pretty tricky to capture as it's a combination of dark and reflection nebula. Part of CN Dec 2024 EAA Challenge. The broad HII region across the top left corner of the image is a tiny section of Barnard's Loop, an enormous section. LDN 1622 is really just the chile chaped appendage and the dark nebula on top of it. My capture doesn't really do justice to the Boogeyman's reflection component, so I'll need to go back another time... probably try to capture it without the L-eNhance. Still, fun to see. |
