Image Details | Total integration time was 18 frames. Exposures 8ms @ 120g, UV/IR Cut Filter. Using SharpCaps lucky imaging with sharpening. Top 20% for 18 frames. Due to smoke, transparency was poor. |
Description | My first serious attempt at using SharpCap's Lunar/Planetary/Solar stacking with the moon. I'd set up the night before and worked out a bunch of the kinks and adjusted the sharpening sliders appropriately. The next day we had a short window of clarity before high clouds ended the observing opportunity. Even during the "clear" time, there was reduced transparency due to smoke. But the stacking and sharpening works really well! You can see the smoke impact in the yellow cast on the original image, which I saved in grayscale for the featured image.... no other post-processing performed... all of the image sharpening took place in real time! |
