This site implements a database of my personal EAA observations. All images were captured by the webmaster. If you’re visiting: “Favorites” gives you a filterable list of my favorite objects. “Lists” provides links to all observations: “All (Chron)” in date order, starting with the earliest; others filter astronomical catalog listings (note: most objects appear in two or more lists).
My four most recent observations follow; use controls below to see earlier observations.
Arp 199 / NGC 5544-5
Two galaxies interacting. A round galaxy which we view face-on, and an elongated spiral, nearly orthogonal to it.
C68 / NGC 6729
Captured at Lake Taghkanic State Park despite Poughkeepsie’s sky-glow at 10° altitude.
C 51 | IC 1613
A challenging dwarf in the local group. Used to perfect techniques for measuring distance using Cepheid variable stars initially discovered by Henrietta Levitt.
Perseus A / C 24 / NGC 1275
A mysterious cluster of NGC Galaxies with particularly bright nuclei and faint ribbons.
